A Little Bit Culty Book Signing with Sarah Edmondson and Nippy Ames

Hills & Hamlets Bookshop

Join us as we welcome former NXIVM members, Sarah Edmondson and Anthony “Nippy” Ames, for a book-signing celebrating their recent release, A Little Bit Culty: Navigating Cults, Control, and Coercion, on Saturday, October 24th at 10am at Hills & Hamlets Bookshop in Serenbe.

A Little Bit Culty follows on the heels of Edmondson’s 2019 memoir, Scarred: The True Story of How I Escaped NXIVM, the Cult that Bound My Life, as well as the couple’s acclaimed HBO series, The Vow, which followed them in real time as they made their escape from the group.

Their newest book is inspired by their podcast of the same name, which the couple launched during COVID, and which quickly became a popular resource for cult survivors and other curious listeners alike.

The empathetic pair guides their audience through the qualities of high-control groups — such as love-bombing, coercive control, gaslighting, and manipulation — using their experience, wisdom, and a little bit of humor. Edmondson and Ames continue to provide a vital resource for anyone interested in learning more about the often-invisible techniques of cults, through guests who share their own personal stories and case studies that reference other infamous groups.

“Sarah and Nippy are the real deal. They are whistleblowers who did not just escape NXIVM, but helped bring it down with fearless grit. A Little Bit Culty is their story and their stand—a powerful, unfiltered guide to understanding how manipulation and control take hold, and how to break free. They expose coercive tactics with clarity, share hard-won wisdom, and give readers the insight to recognize abuse before it starts. This book is a masterclass in reclaiming power and finding your voice. It is also a wake-up call for anyone who thinks they are too smart or too strong to be pulled into a controlling or abusive relationship. Yes, it can happen to you—and this book shows you how to see the warning signs before it’s too late.”
